H.E.A.L Women’s Support Group

Group Misson

To provide a safe, confidential, supportive group environment that promotes emotional healing, growth, and empowerment.

Group Purpose

The H.E.A.L (Hope, Empowerment, Acceptance & Love) Support Group, was established out of the need to support, as well as be supported by other women who have had similar experiences. This group is intended to be a safe-haven for those of us who have been wounded physically, mentally or emotionally. Our wounds can be old or new and inflicted by many things including, codependency, childhood trauma, divorce, addiction, sexual assault, and unhealthy relationships with intimate partners, family, and friends.

Note:  You do not need to be healing or recovering from anything in order to attend. Perhaps you have healed, learned and overcome an experience; your wisdom is needed, therefore we encourage you to attend and give back with your knowledge and understanding.

No religious affiliation:
The group itself does not have an explicit religious underpinning, it’s open and inclusion to all faiths, yet it is important to note it is rooted in Christianity. Women from all backgrounds, religions, and ages groups are welcome.

Often, you may feel like you are the only one struggling — but you’re not. It can be a relief to hear others discuss what they’re going through, and realize you’re not alone. Overcoming and healing from past wounds, present addictions, and stressful situations do not happen in isolation. We need to know that we are not alone and we are validated and accepted.

The beauty and healing properties of the group are self–serving. Being among people with shared experiences and situations creates a unique emotional identification that is different from the type of support that cannot be obtained from a professional.

Safety & Respect:
This group will provide a safe place to share our stories, find understanding, and empower each other to cope with problems. Members act as role models for each other. Seeing others who are contending with the same adversity and making progress in their lives is inspiring and encouraging.

Attendees are never pressured to talk or share; they are welcome to come to listen and observe until they feel comfortable engaging in conversation.

It is a place of mutual respect, open communication, and safety. It is a place where judgment is suspended, and people are free to ask questions, vent frustrations or fears, and explore answers for themselves. More importantly, it is a place to laugh, receive love and enjoy the connections and relationships that are formed.

It is a place where the participant is surrounded by people who ‘get it’ and the facilitator plays an important role but is not the only teacher in the room. No records are kept. All participants agree to abide by the rules of the group including confidentiality.

The group will be free of charge and open to women of all ages and backgrounds!
